Since most of our project are federally funded and the funding will be administered by Caltrans, the projects are subject to FHWA and Caltrans requirements. Thus, the ADKO environmental will follow the Caltrans Local Assistance Procedures Manual (LAPM) and Standard Environmental Reference (SER) guidelines.
At the outset of each project, we will work with County staff and project engineering staff to complete the following steps:
- Define the project and extent of physical activities;
- Identify types of resources within and adjacent to the study area;
- Identify the technical studies necessary to evaluate resources and potential effects;
- Determine the approvals needed for the project and the associated requirements for environmental review; and,
- Identify an appropriate public outreach program for the project. ADKO will use the information developed through these preliminary steps to prepare a detailed project-specific scope of work, budget, and timeline. The comprehensive scope will include all elements necessary to ensure the agency complies with CEQA and/or NEPA as well as other applicable environmental regulations in considering the project.
