Caltrans proposed to construct a new rock shed (Culvert) on Highway 140 between Mariposa and El Portal at Ferguson slide. The new rock shed Culvert will provide a safe and convenient access through a rock fall area due to a land slide movement. ADKO Engineering is conducting a peer review report that provides improvements and address safe rock shed construction, benefits, and concerns to allow the roadway to remain accessible in the event of further rockfalls that may occur due to slide movement above the shed area and be mindful of the high-water elevation and close proximity of the Merced River embankment on the lower side.
